ESPN reveals âCollege GameDayâ Week 4 destination ahead of top-10 matchup
ESPN’s announced Saturday that “College GameDay” hits the road Saturday, Sept. 23, and is headed for a big nonconference matchup in Week 4.
The guys – Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso, Pat McAfee, Rece Davis and Desmond Howard – are headed to South Bend for the showdown between Notre Dame and Ohio State.
Corso’s headgear pick at Colorado marked the 400th of his career. Since starting the tradition on Oct. 5, 1996 – when he donned the Brutus Buckeye mascot head, the headgear pick has become a staple that fans across the country eagerly anticipate in the closing minutes of every show.
Meanwhile, Sam Hartman threw three touchdown passes to move into seventh place on major college football’s career list and No. 9 Notre Dame pulled away from Central Michigan in the second half for a 41-17 victory. Hartman now has 123 career touchdown passes. He passed Aaron Murray of Georgia and Ty Detmer of BYU and is tied with Oklahoma’s Landry Jones at No. 7 all-time.
Hartman finished with 330 yards passing. Central Michigan played without quarterback Bert Emanuel, Jr. who was ill and did not make the trip.
Ohio State, meanwhile, demolished Western Kentucky 63-10 on Saturday, setting up the top 10-matchup.
